This is Chubby – the first little red boat in Bicknell Square.
The North Weymouth Civic Association has adopted two islands in the neighborhood. A well-used boat was restored, and with the help of Weymouth’s DPW it was installed at the intersection of Bridge and Sea Streets.
Capeway Florist provides the flowers for Chubby II, NWCA volunteers tend to them.
NWCA has made many improvements to this green space which sits at the intersection of Green and Bridge Streets by the end of Neck St. It is sometimes known as the “9-11 Green” because of a sign there that reflects on the 9-11 attacks. The benches and the walkway were installed as an Eagle Scout project. The plantings and upkeep are done by NWCA volunteers.
